Talking to participants during a seminar entitled Ethics in health management at the Vatican, Francis said, “as you can see, I’m still alive”.

“The doctor didn’t let me go to Dubai, the reason is that it’s very hot there and you go from the heat to air conditioning. And that’s not good for a bronchial condition.”

But the 86-year-old pope stressed: “Thank God it wasn’t pneumonia.”

“It’s an acute and infectious bronchitis.”

As for his therapy, the Argentine pontiff said, “I no longer have a fever, but I’m still taking antibiotics and things like that.”
