The mission will be the first crewed landing on the moon since Apollo 17 in December 1972 and will be the first to take a woman to Earth’s satellite.

The iconic Italian fashion house will work with Axiom Space to develop innovative solutions in terms of materials and design able to both provide protection and to meet the challenges of a unique environment, said Axiom.

“Prada’s know-how in raw materials, production and design techniques will enable us to apply advanced technologies to guarantee the comfort of the astronauts on the lunar surface, taking into consideration also those human factors that are so necessary and so far absent in traditional space suits,” said Axiom Space CEO Michael Suffredini.
