The good news comes as Queenslanders wait to hear when Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk plans to reopen pubs, restaurants and cafes across the state.
Palaszczuk is expected to make an announcement later today or early tomorrow morning.
The premier announced on Thursday that two households will be allowed to congregate at a home in Queensland from Sunday, just in time for Mother’s Day.
She said the easing of restrictions was made possible by low levels of infections across the state.
At present, 973 of the Queensland’s 1045 confirmed cases had recently travelled overseas or had close contact with a confirmed case, such as their partner or flatmate.
Around 94 per cent of Queenslanders who have contracted to the virus have now recovered, leaving 45 active cases across the state.
Nine people are being treated in Queensland hospitals and three of those are in intensive care.
The state’s death toll stands at six.
