This was revealed in the 24th edition of the ‘Rapporto sulla Qualità della Vita in Italia’ (Report on the Quality of Life in Italy). The report is produced by ItaliaOggi with La Sapienza University in Rome, in collaboration with Cattolica Assicurazioni.

Trento’s excellent results mark the first time they have been achieved in the survey’s history, with the province’s results are indicative of the dynamic that also distinguishes the other North-Eastern provinces, whose average score at a population and size level exceeds the corresponding national average score.

The same is true, but at the opposite end of the scale, for Crotone, ranked last, which identifies the southern provinces with various criticalities in many of the aspects of quality of life. The province is at the tail end of survey in six out of nine categories (business and work; environment; education and training; income and wealth; social security; leisure).

The study shows a clear split between the Centre-North, on the one hand, and the South and the Islands, on the other: in fact, no southern or island province is in the survey’s top 32.
