Schools will conduct their own version of coronavirus screenings as students return to classrooms.
Many students will undergo temperature tests, while some schools will screen students with questions to ensure they’re well enough to attend.
Teachers are expected to enforce guidelines for social distancing as much as possible, even with children returning for kindergarten, Prep and Year 1.
Schools have altered drop-off procedures and, in some cases, parents will be required to leave their children at the school gate for collection rather than accompanying them into their classroom.
At the other end of the school spectrum, students in Years 11 and 12 also returned this morning, as schools introduced their individual post-lockdown rules.
It comes with the added assurance of no new coronavirus cases recorded overnight and only 18 active cases in Queensland.
