Queensland’s “Little Italy”: Ingham celebrates its Australian Italian Festival

Now in its 23^rd year, the event will take place from August 5 to 6, the first weekend of the month, as is tradition.

For the duration of the two-day festivities, Ingham’s TYTO Precinct will transform into a bustling piazza full of world-class live entertainment, mouth-watering food and wine, cooking demonstrations, market stalls, amusement rides and much more.

The atmosphere, tastes and aromas combined with the excitement of it all will transport visitors to a traditional festival in a small Italian town.

Founded in 1995, this authentic Italian event was a product of community consultations to discuss ideas for economic diversity within the growing community of Ingham. 

Over the years, the festival has come to attract thousands of visitors from all over Queensland and the rest of the nation.

In true Italian style, food is an integral part of the celebrations.

Due to popular demand, former My Kitchen Rules contestants Luciano and Martino will return this year, presenting cooking demonstrations throughout the weekend.

Following the Hair and Fashion Show which took place on Thursday, locals will kick off the celebrations in style on Friday evening with the Gala Masquerade Ball presented by Melbourne-based comedian, James Liotta.

Set to follow are two days of food, wine and frivolity which will be sure to live up to Ingham’s reputation as Queensland’s “Little Italy”.
