As part of the three-day festivities, locals and visitors alike will be able to drink out of a fountain from which wine, rather than water, flows.

Guaranteed to draw crowds, the attraction is presented by Eataly and I Love Toret, and will be showcased on Saturday and Sunday.

Barbera Fontanafredda wine will be tasted from the fountain, which is green and in the shape of a bull’s head, the emblem of the northern Italian city.

The mobile drinking fountain is a replica of Turin’s iconic toret (meaning “bull” in local dialect), of which almost 800 are found in the city’s streets and squares.

The fountain will be transported through Turin’s main streets, from Piazza Castello to Porta Palazzo, offering passersby a glass of the delicious red wine.

Grapes in Town will also feature tastings, masterclasses and guided tours, among other activities, held across Turin, from the city’s Musei Reali, to the Archivio di Stato and the Circolo dei Lettori.

The district of Lingotto will come alive on Saturday night for ‘La Notte della Vendemmia’, a party hosted by Eataly and featuring live music, entertainment and tastings.
