Reporter Corrado Zunino tweeted that he was “Travelling from Kherson to Odesa”.
“I'm well, I've got a wound in my right shoulder, grazed by the bullet that hit my great friend Bogdan (Bitik).
“I believe he died, at the beginning of the Kherson Bridge. An infinite pain. I had a vest on with Press written on it.”
Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said Zunino had been hurt in a Russian drone attack but “he is well and is being followed by our embassy in Kyiv”.
He said he had voiced solidarity to la Repubblica editor Maurizio Molinari.
