New signing Donyell Malen made an instant impact on his debut, linking superbly with club icon Paulo Dybala as the visitors controlled the game and claimed all three points.

Rome started with purpose at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, capitalising on fresh attacking options and greater cohesion in midfield. Malen, who is on loan from Aston Villa—was at the heart of Roma’s early threat and thought he had scored in the 23rd minute, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Torino struggled to contain the intensity of the visitors’ transitions, and it was no surprise when the breakthrough came in the 26th minute. Dybala drove a defence-splitting pass into the path of Malen, whose composed first touch and finish to match put Roma ahead.

Buoyed by the lead, Roma continued to dominate possession but were met with organised resistance from Torino, who limited clear chances while trying to threaten on the counter.

The hosts’ best openings came from set-pieces and long balls that tested the Giallorossi back line, but Mile Svilar remained largely untroubled as Roma controlled the tempo.

In the second half, Roma’s tactical discipline and vertical attacking play paid dividends again. A slick build-up involving Lorenzo Pellegrini and Dybala saw the Argentine skipper find space in the box before coolly flicking the ball home in the 72nd minute to double the visitors’ advantage and effectively seal the victory.

The result lifts Roma into fourth place in Serie A with 42 points, seven behind leaders Inter and three ahead of fifth-placed Juventus, who lost away to Cagliari.
