The extraordinary milestone brought together around 150 guests, including family, friends, suppliers and long-standing clients of the company.
The event, organised with great care by John’s daughter Daniela, his son Alex and Alex’s wife Erina, was an elegant evening of cocktails, canapés and heartfelt moments in honour of the Royal Plywood founder.
The highlight of the night was the cutting of the cake by the guest of honour himself, originally from Ripa Teatina, a picturesque village in the province of Chieti, Abruzzo.
Surrounded by the affection of family, friends and colleagues, John Angelucci was celebrated for the fifty years of dedication, sacrifice and achievement that have made Royal Plywood an industry benchmark.
The evening was not only a corporate celebration, but also a personal tribute to a man who, with solid roots and unwavering determination, built a remarkable entrepreneurial career.
Adding emotional weight to the occasion was the memory of his beloved wife Wanda, who passed away in 2016. Her support accompanied every step of the Angelucci family’s success, echoing the familiar saying attributed to Virginia Woolf: “Behind every great man is a great woman”—a reminder of how often a man’s success is made possible by the support, trust and partnership of the woman at his side.
Royal Plywood is the second major enterprise founded by Angelucci, after A&G Formworkers, which also celebrated 50 years in 2018.
However, Royal Plywood is now considered the flagship of the Abruzzese entrepreneur. Through a forward-looking vision and a constant commitment to innovation, the company quickly established itself as a leader in formwork and infrastructure solutions, recognised for its reliability, quality materials and precision manufacturing.
From its main headquarters in Strathfield South, Sydney, strong growth has led to the opening of new offices in Queensland and Victoria, consolidating the company’s presence in the Australian market.
Under the leadership of John’s son, Alex Angelucci, Royal Plywood has embarked on a new phase of expansion and modernisation. Thanks to the experience passed down from his father, Alex has brought fresh ideas, enthusiasm and an innovative approach that have strengthened the company’s performance and competitiveness.
The synergy between John’s experience and Alex’s technological expertise has allowed Royal Plywood to navigate new industry challenges while preserving its core values of excellence and reliability.
Working alongside Alex are the aforementioned Daniela and Erina, as well as John’s grandsons John-Paul and Christian, ensuring continuity, family stability and a clear vision for the future.
With such a strong team, the future of Royal Plywood is in excellent hands, and John can finally enjoy some well-earned rest and the satisfaction of all he has built.
