“The extradition to Italy of Shabbar Abbas, accused of murdering his daughter Saman, is also the result of great diplomatic work,” Tajani, who is also deputy prime minister, wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

“Thanks to Pakistan for its cooperation. Now justice will take its course.”

The Pakistani interior minister on Tuesday granted the extradition of Shabbar Abbas after an Islamabad district court judge upheld request for his extradition to Italy in July.

Abbas, is set to arrive on a flight from Islamabad at Rome’s Ciampino Airport in the early hours of Friday morning, after which he will be briefly held in a Rome jail before moving on to a jail in Reggio.

His wife, and Saman’s mother, Nazia Shaheen is the only suspect who is still at large.

Abbas allegedly killed Saman along with her uncle, two cousins, and his wife.
