The concert, which showcases the participating winners of Sanremo Giovani 2018, will take place on April 6, 2019, at the City Recital Hall in Sydney.
Einar, Federica Abbate, Deschema, La Rua and Nyvinne are the new talents in Italian pop music who won their place in the tour, having made it onto the podium during the last edition of Sanremo Giovani, which was broadcast during prime time on Rai Uno on December 20 and 21, 2018.
The young artists will perform live in Tunis, Tokyo, Sydney, Buenos Aires, Toronto, Barcellona and Brussels as part of the world tour.
Accompanied by an orchestra of five musicians conducted by Maurizio Filardo, they will present their original songs and some famous covers.
Throughout the evening, Roman singer and Sydney resident Lorenzo Santangelo will also perform, while the MC will be Italo-Australian actor Mirko Grillini.
The initiative is promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (Italy) in collaboration with Rai and the Festival of Sanremo, and the concert in Sydney has been made possible thanks to the generous sponsorship of CO.AS.IT.
Introducing the performers:
Einar Ortiz, born in Cuba in 1993, has lived in the province of Brescia since he was nine years old.
He became passionate about music and studied self-taught guitar and piano.
After a brief period on The X Factor at the end of 2017, he then made an appearance on Italian TV show Amici, where he was appreciated for his unmistakable timbre and interpretive talents.
Centomila volte (One Hundred Thousand Times) Einar’s debut, and an emotional song about love which is difficult to forget.
Federica Abbate was born in Milan in 1991.
After graduating in sociology in 2013, she won Genova Per Voi, acompetition for young authors, and began to work for Universal Music Publishing, becoming an extremely prolific author, due in part to her friendship with Alfredo “Cheope” Rapetti, son of the great Mogol.
She has written hits for Fedez, Baby K, Fiorella Mannoia, Eros Ramazzotti and many others, including Francesca Michielin, with whom she wrote the song Nessun grado di separazione (Not One Degree of Separation) which was awarded second place at Sanremo 2016.
Her successes as a singer include Fuori sui balconi, Mi contraddico, Pensare troppo mi fa male and first EP In foto vengo male (I Look Bad in Photos).
Billboard Italy put her on the cover in May 2018.
During the summer of 2018, Abbate performed at the MI AMI Festival and Giffoni Film Festival.
Throughout autumn she will be busy with live performances, in anticipation of Finalmente (Finally), the new single.
Deschema consists of Gianluca Polvere (vocals, keys), Nicola Facco and Giulio Cappelli (guitar), Emilio Goracci (bass) and Massimiliano Manetti (drums).
In February 2017, the group released a self-titled EP with six songs with lyrics in Italian; the group dedicates itself primarily to live activity, with shows characterised by a strong stage and audio presence.
In 2018, the video clip of the new single Nellie Bly was released.
The band was among the finalists of Arezzo Wave Toscana 2018 and won the Dra-Contest which opens the doors of the Beat Festival in Empoli.
The group also achieved first place in Area Sanremo, with the unedited song Cristallo, which took them to Sanremo Giovani in December.
La Rua consists of Daniele Incicco (voice and guitar), William D’Angelo (guitar), Davide Fioravanti (piano, accordion, glockenspiel), Alessandro Mariani (guitar, banjo) and Matteo Grandoni (double bass, bass).
Their first album was released in 2015, under the name La Rua.
It came out after many places and victories in competitions and festivals such as Sanremo Social, Voci Nuove and Volti Nuovi in Castrocaro, Area Sanremo, Nuove Propose del Festival di Sanremo 2014 and many singles.
The group took part in Maria De Filippi’s show Amici until 2016, the year in which they signed with Universal Music and their second album Sotto effetto di Felicità (Under the Effect of Happiness) came out.
They will perform their song Tutta la vita questa vita on the program Sarà Sanremo.
The song was the signature song of Dopofestival 2017, of which they were guests.
In 2018, a single with Federica Carta Sull’orlo was released, about a crisis of love and which hit 5 million views.
La Rua participated in Sanremo Giovani with the song Alla mia età si vola (At My Age You Fly).
Nyvinne Pinternagel, who goes by the name Nyvinne, is a singer and symbol of multiethnicity and multiculturalism.
A polyglot born in Luxumburg, she has German and Morccan origins, and lives in Italy.
She has mastered and utilises many instruments: pianoforte, guitar, bass, drums, ukulele, mandolin, and percussion, and writes lyrics in French, English and Italian, drawing from her experiences to craft her songs.
In 2017, she brought the song Spreco Personale to the stage at Sarà Sanremo.
In the past she has performed in the open air concerts of Raphael Gualazzi, Negrita and Jovanotti at the Verona Stadium.
Io ti penso (I Think of You) is the first song of her new project with Sugar Music.
The future of Italian music, these artists are sure to blow their audience away at the Sydney concert.
