Ilaria De Rosa, 24, from Resana in the province of Treviso in northern Veneto, will now remain in a prison located around 40 minutes from Jeddah, until November.
The flight attendant with the Lithuanian company Avion Express was arrested in Saudi Arabia during a party at a villa on May 5 for allegedly carrying a small quantity of hashish.
The indictment claimed De Rosa was in possession of a joint found hidden in her bra during a police check, a claim she has always denied.
A key part of De Rosa’s defence has been the fact that Avion Express cabin staff are subjected to regular toxicological tests, which have always confirmed the air hostess does not use drugs.
De Rosa attended the party with three friends who have always proclaimed her innocence.
The three, a Saudi, a Tunisian and an Egyptian, were each sentenced to one-and-a-half years in prison.
The accusation is considered very serious in Saudi Arabia and punishable with the death penalty.
