Silvio Berlusconi's Monza said on Tuesday that they have sacked coach Giovanni Stroppa and put youth-team boss Raffaele Palladino in charge of the Serie A side.
The club thanked Stroppa, who last season led Monza to promotion to the Italian topflight for the first time it their 110-year history.
Monza are currently at the bottom of Serie A with just one point from their first six games.
Palladino, 38, is a former striker who played for Juventus and Genoa, among other teams.
His first game in charge will be at home against Juventus on Sunday.
Stroppa is the second Serie A coach to be fired this season after Bologna dismissed Sinisa Mihajlovic last week and replaced him with Thiago Motta.
