It is unclear why the markets have been forestalled but event organisers, The Sicilian Ways, assure punters they will be updated once the new date is known.
“All stall holders who placed an application – we will hold onto those until we have the new date,” they stated in a Facebook post.
The market is expected to showcase a wide range of Sicilian goods, including home-made Sicilian olives, art, jewellery, cannoli, cassata, arancini, cornetti and granita.
The festival may also feature traditional Sicilian folk music, which is characterised by Sicilian bagpipes, the jaw harp, a diatonic accordion and percussive instruments, such as the tambourine.
We’ll have to wait a little longer for the line-up.
Stay tuned!
