In the wake of the European Championship which ended this month, 13 Juventus champions are taking a well-deserved break, missing out on the ICC tournament in Melbourne.
This fact wasn’t enough to discourage fans, and the illustrious side was warmly greeted by hundreds of local devotees, who cheered on Argentine striker Paolo Dybala and his teammates as they set foot on Aussie ground.
The Juve players were officially welcomed to our city on Tuesday morning by a representative of the Victorian Government and the Italian Consul General in Melbourne, Marco Maria Cerbo.
The “bianconeri” then carried out their first training session at Lakeside Stadium in South Melbourne, where they will continue their preparation over the coming days before meeting with Melbourne Victory for their first Cup clash on Saturday night at the MCG.
