Inter Milan Coach Simone Inzaghi said his side had pulled off something “special”, after they thwarted Viktoria Plzen 4-0 at San Siro on Wednesday, wrapping up qualification from Champions League Group C, which also features Bayern, Munich and Barcelona, with a game to spare.
“We knew it’d be a very difficult group but we had hope. We wanted to perform really well, but then went beyond expectations,” Inzaghi said.
“These players need to be given a big round of applause.
“Certainly, I’m satisfied; in order to achieve this feat, we needed to do something special, and this is what we did.”
The already qualified Napoli, meanwhile, won 3-0 at home against Glasgow Rangers to notch their 12th consecutive win in all competitions and stay at the top of Group A with a perfect record.
