The TAR’s decision was confirmed on June 6, 2023 by the Council of State, Italy’s highest administrative court.

Italy is currently roiled by the case of an anti-gay general whose supporters have defended his right to free speech in a self-published book slamming gays, Jews, feminists, environmentalists and migrants.
