The Italian fans were in Eindhoven for Tuesday’s Champions League clash between Napoli and PSV.
The tickets for the match of the fans who were detained have been cancelled, the supporters added.
The fans were reportedly arrested after breaching a security zone set up by the city’s mayor, Jeroen Dijsselbloem, in view of the match.
Dutch news agency ANP said the Napoli fans were arrested after entering the security zone and refusing to leave despite being told to by police.
It said they were arrested to prevent trouble from breaking out.
The Dutch authorities have sent the documentation regarding what happened to Naples police so they can decide whether to hand the fans in question stadium bans in Italy, sources said.
“I am following the case of the Napoli fans held in Eindhoven for checks before tonight’s football match,” Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said via X.
“The Embassy in The Hague has already sent staff, and Italian Digos (security police) agents are already present.
“The Dutch police will remove fans without tickets.
“For any needs, the Embassy can be contacted at the number +31 651541399.”
