Pisa had eight shots on goal to SPAL’s 15.
The home team had an excellent chance in the first half through Matteo Tramoni, but the midfielder’s strong header was met by a solid hand from Pomini in goal.
SPAL’s Simone Rabbi went close from a corner but his header rattled against the crossbar.
The visitors went ahead three minutes before the break thanks to a well-taken shot into the far post from Raffaele Celia.
It took just seven minutes after halftime for SPAL to double their advantage through a Gabriele Moncini Penalty awarded for a clumsy challenge in the box.
Nicolas held his ground and waited before diving, but the shot was too powerful to react to.
Tramoni made it interesting for the home side in the 68th minute when he got on the end of Arturo Calabresi’s through ball and calmly slotted it past Pomini.
The remaining 22 minutes had plenty of chances for both sides, but the score remained 2-1.
SPAL go down while Pisa finish in 11th.
