Two 18-year-old students took their school’s defibrillator to a nearby bar where they saved a pensioner’s life in Modena Wednesday, local media reported Thursday.

The teens were responding to a phone application notification informing that the man had gone into cardiac arrest.
The pair, a male volunteer in the public assistance association AVA and a female Blue Cross volunteer, rushed to the bar as soon as their phones pinged.
Their devices were linked to the local 118 emergency services hotline.
The pensioner was taken to hospital where he is said to be comfortable.
