At the first meeting chaired by the secretary general, Ambassador Riccardo Guariglia, the issues related to the emergency were addressed with initiatives to pursue in the coming weeks examined.
In coordination with the Italian Embassy in Caracas and the consulates in Caracas and Maracaibo, there will be continuous monitoring of the evolution of the situation.
In particular, the Italian government will be monitoring the problems related to Maduro’s political opponents and Italian citizens subject to measures by the local authorities.
