The evening will be part of events marking the northern city's spell as Italian culture capital this year, along with its neighbour Bergamo.

The Oscar winner for Pulp Fiction, Inglorious Basterds, Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight and Once Uopn A Time In Hollywood will lead a debate at the Teatro Grande on the major American films of the 1970s, which he enjoyed as a young film-goer as Hollywood was going through something of a revolution during that decade.

Tarantino, 59, will also read an excerpt from his new book for those gathered at the cinema.

Tickets for this only Italian date on Tarantino's tour go on sale February 14.
