From the moment guests arrived, the familiar atmosphere that defines every gathering was unmistakable: long-standing members, new faces, many young people, friends and guests—some attending for the very first time.
It was a reminder of how good it feels to be part of a large, close-knit community.
President Renzo Valleri opened the day with a warm welcome, noting that the event was made possible thanks to the support of sponsor Trevor Byrne of Ray White Carnes Hill Real Estate.
Among those present were Club Marconi president Morris Licata, director Angelo Ruisi and the newly appointed director Joan Pellegrino, who received warm applause and best wishes from the room for her recent appointment.
A particularly welcome presence was that of Flora Kendal and Leni Paserelli, who travelled from Western Australia—cousins of Doria Mazzer and daughters of her godmother.
It was moving to see how the bond between the Trevisani community truly stretches across Australia. Following the initial greetings, a minute’s silence was observed in memory of members who have “gone ahead”, a simple yet deeply felt moment.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery were then extended to members who are unwell, with special thoughts for those undergoing rehabilitation, including the association’s inaugural first president, Tony Fornasier, who will turn 92 on December 31.
Father Antonio Fregolent, who was unfortunately unable to attend, was also remembered. The music of Tony Gagliano, accompanied by much-loved songs sung by Ruisi, filled the room with a cheerful, festive mood: familiar melodies that had all 130 guests smiling and singing along.
The event officially opened with the singing of the Trevisani nel Mondo anthem.
Seeing the candles already lit—symbols of the light of Trevisani scattered across the four corners of the world—proved more emotional than many expected: a small gesture that reminded everyone where they come from and what they carry in their hearts.
Club Marconi president Morris Licata expressed his deep appreciation for the association, thanking the Trevisani for the contribution they have made to the Club over many years.
Birthday celebrations followed for members born in December—Ernesto Calderan, Adriana Zamprogno and Marietta Giamba—each greeted with warm applause and affection.
One of the most touching moments of the day was undoubtedly the tribute to Caterina Mauro, who recently reached the remarkable age of 100. Watching Caterina smile as she received a commemorative poster from President Valleri was truly moving.
The day unfolded with laughter, music, stories, toasts and a genuine desire to be together. Looking around as the tables slowly emptied, it was impossible not to reflect on how precious this sense of belonging is for Trevisani, especially when far from their homeland.
The celebration was an unequivocal success: a day rich in emotion, friendship and tradition. Members are already looking forward to the next gathering in 2026.
