According to the secretary of the Good Neighbour Council of Victoria, Miss Thelma Jarrett, one of the highlights of this year’s Royal Melbourne Show will be a display of traditional artisan products from various European communities in Australia.
Record-breaking numbers are expected at the fair this year, both in terms of spectators and exhibitors, all of whom will flock to the 72-acre showgrounds on Epsom Road in Ascot Vale.
The value of the agricultural products on display every year is equal to 3 million pounds, and the value of machinery and heavy industrial products is estimated at 4 million pounds.
Over 750,000 people visited the Royal Melbourne Show last year.
The advertising manager of this year’s show, Mr Allan Dawes, said in a press release that he is confident an even larger crowd will be in attendance this year.
The main purpose of the Show is to feature the large agricultural resources of the state, and new developments in the industrial field.
The sporting competitions and the contest for Victoria’s best cattle will be the most anticipated events of the Royal Melbourne Show.
This year, the Show will close with a huge outdoor ball during the evening of Saturday, October 1.
The ball will take place in a spacious area decorated in celebration of the Australian countryside.
The Royal Melbourne Show’s public relations team hopes that all migrants are able to contribute and participate in the various activities of one of the biggest trade fairs in the southern hemisphere.
