“[In particular,] we are following with great attention not only our 1200 military personnel who are training the Lebanese armed forces, but also the 3000 Italian [citizens]”.

“We are ready for any event in case, and we hope it will not happen, the situation gets worse,” he added.

“We are committed to do everything necessary to ensure the safety of Italians living in Lebanon.

“We certainly today urge Italians who are in Lebanon to exercise extreme caution.

“Those who can return should do it.

“We advise in the firmest manner against going to that country until the situation is less complicated.” said Tajani.

Tajani said on X that he has spoken with his Israeli and Lebanese counterparts, Israel Katz and Bou Habib, telling them that “interrupting the spiral of violence is possible”.

“The government is working for peace and stability, also through Italian contingent UNIFIL for which I have asked protection,” he also said.
