The ninth edition of the charity event saw around 20,000 Santas flock to the northern Italian city’s Regina Margherita hospital.

The Santas arrived at the hospital after completing a three-kilometre walk together.

Some Santas even brought along their dogs, which they had dressed in red outfits for the occasion.

President of the region of Piedmont Sergio Chiamparino and Turin mayor Chiara Appendino also attended the event.

“It’s an extraordinary sight,” Appendino told Italian media.

“Christmas is a magical time and a celebration, but it’s also a time to be close to those in difficulty.”

€150,000 were raised by the Forma Foundation, and will be dedicated to the updating of magnetic resonance equipment.

The day also featured some romance, with one Santa getting down on one knee and proposing so a soon-to-be Mrs Claus.
