The letter came from the so-called ‘Global movement against the Nazi-Zionist terrorist state of Israel for the liberation of Palestine’.
The envelope of the letter included the sender, the initials A.F., and an address in Bologna, well-informed sources said.
“We will use armed force to strike all interests of the terrorist state of Israel,” the letter, which was reported to security forces, said.
“[The state of Israel is] accused at an international level of war crimes and genocide.
“[We will target] its embassies, its museums and all activities and gatherings around the world.”
Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi was among politicians to express “utmost and unconditional solidarity to Minister Tajani”.
According to Piantedosi, the letter “shows the great commitment he is investing on various themes and scenarios”.
“The fact [of the letter being sent] speaks for itself, and investigations are ongoing to determine its real relevance,” said the interior minister.
