Roma began the match on the front foot and looked the more likely to break the deadlock in the opening stages, maintaining possession and probing for openings against a stubborn Torino defence.
Despite having less possession, Torino took the lead ten minutes before the break through Che Adams, who picked the ball up 25 yards out, turned and shot into the far-bottom corner.
Roma’s patience was rewarded early in the second half as Spanish defender Mario Hermoso’s quick feet took him around a Torino defender before shooting across the keeper to make it 1–1, giving the Giallorossi fans hope of progression.
However, Torino refused to be overwhelmed. Their response was swift and sharp. Just minutes later, Adams turned in a tee-up from Nikola Vlašić to retake the lead, and the momentum quickly swung in favour of the visitors.

The drama continued deep into the second half when 16-year-old Australian Antonio Arena headed home to make it 2–2 and reignite hopes of a comeback for the hosts.
Yet Torino had one more twist left: in the 90th minute Ilkhan pounced from close range after Roma keeper Mile Svilar could only parry an earlier header, securing a memorable 3–2 win and sealing Torino’s passage into the last eight.
