The order comes after recently ordering the cull of two problematic bears, one of which killed a trail runner, only to see that order overturned.
The wolves have been blamed for the disappearance of farm animals in the Monti Lessini mountains in the northern region.
It is the first such order for wolves in Italy, a protected species at the European level.
Animal rights activists protested the move, as they did the orders for the bears, saying they would “pursue all avenues to stop this new cruel war by (Provincial President Maurizio) Fugatti”.
