The sentence was over her responsibility for the lack of safety measures resulting in a stampede among football fans watching the 2017 Champions League final between Juventus and Real Madrid in Turin’s central San Carlo square.
Three people died and at least 1672 were injured.
The stampede on June 3, 2017, happened when panic spread in the Piazza San Carlo after a robbery attempt.

Appendino, a senior member of the 5-Star Movement, had her term trimmed from one year and six months to one year, five months and 23 days.
It is, again, suspended.
The same term was handed down to her former cabinet chief Paolo Giordana.
Maurizio Montagnese, then president of the Turin tourism agency, was acquitted.
