The special feature will celebrate the 17th edition of the Week of the Italian Language in the World, with this year’s chosen theme being ‘L'italiano al cinema, l'italiano nel cinema’ (Italian at the cinema, Italian in the cinema), focusing on the legacy of Italian films.
All of the games and classroom activities are based around the theme of Italian cinema, from the crossword to the word puzzle.
Displayed in this edition of “In classe con IL GLOBO” is the poem of the first prize recipient of the Dante Alighieri Original Poem for Year 7, Anna Rita Varrasso from Gladstone Park Secondary College.
Also showcased in the double page spread is Tyra O’Neill’s winning speech for the Dante Discorso Competition for Year 12s.
A student at Our Lady of Sion, Tyra was also last year’s winner of Year 11 Dante Discorso Competition.
The edition also features children at Brunswick South Primary School, who celebrated Italian Day by turning a classroom into an Italian kitchen.
Brunswick Secondary College also continued their Italian language festivities by visiting the Veneto Club, to give Year 8 students an opportunity to practise their language firsthand and immerse themselves in Italian food, sport and hospitality.
