“I think the most correct choice is to establish a NATO-Ukraine Council to prepare the ground for Kyiv’s future accession, which will have to take place after the war,” Tajani said.
His comments came on the sidelines of the Italy-Slovenia-Croatia trilateral meeting in Ancona.
“This does not mean there won’t be attention to Ukraine or that everything to guarantee the country’s independence and freedom will not be done.
“But I think you have to achieve the objective with steps that also make it possible to achieve peace.”
