On Wednesday, Italian Minister for Business and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, and University and Research Minister Anna Maria Bernini hailed Italy’s contributions to the making of NASA’s huge new moon rocket, Artemis 1.
“With the launch of the Artemis 1 mission we begin a new and evocative phase in space exploration,” said Bernini.
“It brings us great pride to highlight that this mission also represents Italians; from the research phase, to that of making the components, there are Italian competencies and talents,” Uso said
“We are proud that there is also Italian industry and technology that has contributed to the the launch of the Artemis 1 mission.”
“In addition to the fundamental industrial contribution to the European Service Module for the Orion capsule, the only European nano-satellite on board is from a small company in Turin,” he added, referring to the ArgoMoon satellite.
“The Italian space supply chain, made up of large and small companies, confirms itself as a top global asset, thanks also to the coordinating role of the Italian Space Agency.”
