The home side had 61 per cent possession and created 11 scoring opportunities to Cosenza’s three. Only one of Cosenza’s shots, their goal, was on target.
Cosenza took the lead in the 38th minute off the back of a turnover.
The ball ended up with Idriz Voca, whose shot from just inside the box took a deflection and went in off the left post.
Venezia levelled four minutes after half time when Nicholas Pierini turned in the box, evaded two players and smashed the ball across Cosenza goalkeeper Alessandro Micai who could do nothing.
