The opening goal didn’t come until the first minute of the second half, when Sampdoria winger Estanis Pedrola received the ball on the edge of the six-yard box, took a touch and sent it into the far post.
In the 76th minute Chris Gytkjaer equalised for Venezia with a header from a corner taken by Bjarki Bjarkason.
With one minute of regulation time remaining, Tanner Tessmann’s long-range freekick beat Sampdoria keeper Filip Stankovic at his near post.
Venezia remain undefeated in their first three matches, while Sampdoria are winless.
