Venice suspends electric buses after new Mestre crash
Venice Mayor Luigi Brugnaro said Sunday that the city was suspending the use of electric buses operated by the La Linea company after one crashed in its Mestre district on Saturday, injuring 15 people.
There is no evidence to suggest the busses are faulty, whereas the overpass in the first accident has long been considered unsafe. (Photo: ANSA)

The incident occurred after a vehicle of the same type plunged from an overpass on October 3 in a disaster where 21 people died.
Brugnaro stressed that this was a precautionary measure while checks are run on this type of bus.
Investigators are working to establish the cause of both accidents.
