The opening blow came just three minutes in when Matteo Guendouzi darted into the box and slotted home from a precise Taty Castellanos assist, catching Verona flat-footed. The tone was set, and the momentum never relented.
Within seven minutes, Mattia Zaccagni added a second with a low shot after getting on the end of a delightful one-two with Castellanos. Verona, already shell-shocked, had little time to regroup before Castellanos fired in a powerful header in the 41st minute to send Lazio into half-time with a comfortable three-goal cushion.
The second half was a formality for the hosts, but Boulaye Dia ensured it ended in style, netting a tap-in in the 82nd minute to cap off a dominant display.
Lazio’s performance was the highlight of their early campaign, representing both their largest margin of victory and a clear signal of intent from Maurizio Sarri’s side.
