Five of the cases were of community transmission with no known link to another case.

Victorian health workers conducted 20,000 tests on Thursday.

The state has smashed its goal of 100,000 tests over the past fortnight, with around 127,000 tests now completed.

“The way Victorians have embraced [mass testing] has been amazing and it’s going to be what helps us make decisions leading into Monday,” Police Minister Lisa Neville said this morning.

Victoria has recorded 1467 cases of coronavirus, including 117 active cases.

Seventy-one of the state’s cases have been linked to the Cedar Meats Australia in Brooklyn.
