High-profile locations and events on the list include the Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup Final at the MCG on Sunday, the Rebels versus Lions rugby game at AAMI Park on Saturday, and La Trobe University’s Bundoora campus.

Regarding the Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup Final between Australia and India, which attracted crowds of more than 86,000 people, authorities identified the exposure site as the MCC Members Level 2.

Other locations include train stations, restaurants, Cinema Nova in Carlton and a Coles supermarket, while train services between Melbourne and Geelong and a number of overseas flights arriving in Melbourne were also listed.

Anyone who was at any of the sites or events should monitor their health and seek medical advice if they begin to show symptoms.

Earlier, La Trobe University announced a student at its Bundoora campus had tested positive for coronavirus.

The university said in a statement on Thursday that on the advice of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) the campus would remain open.

“The affected individual is a La Trobe student who has attended class within the past week,” the statement said.

“The student is receiving medical treatment and the University has offered its full support to the student via the Health Department.

“All staff and students with whom the student came into contact have been identified and asked to self-isolate.

“The limited number of areas the student visited last week have been deep cleaned according to DHHS guidelines.”

Six new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Victoria on Wednesday, bringing the state’s total number to 27.

Victoria’s chief health officer, Brett Sutton, said the situation was “evolving rapidly”.

“For the virus to spread, extended close personal contact is most likely required,” he said.

“But visitors to locations where cases have been should be aware of the signs and symptoms of COVID-19.”

Close personal contact is at least 15 minutes face-to-face or more than two hours in the same room.

The Victorian Department of Health and Human Services has a hotline for public information on the coronavirus which is 1800 675 398.
