It was Italian Day at St Kevin’s and all the children were allowed to dress up as something Italian or wear the Italian colours.
The children learned about making gnocchi and every child had a turn at rolling the dough and cutting it into pieces of gnocchi.
We had a delicious lunch of gnocchi, gelato and crostoli.
It was a festive day filled with laughter and joy.
The school had a parade and a best dress contest and prizes were given to the winners.
The gnocchi and the crostoli were all homemade by Anna and Ange, the visiting chefs.
It was definitely a great meal... Buonissimo!
Mr Rodrigues, our school principal, and Lena Sirianni, our Italian teacher, dressed up in Venetian Carnevale costumes.
The tables were beautifully set with flowers, Italian-coloured serviettes and olive branches in vases.
All the children, parents, grandparents and teachers sat and ate their meal just as if we were in an Italian restaurant.
It was a wonderful experience for all of the St Kevin’s students.
All the children had an amazing day spending time with their parents, grandparents, teachers and other students.
It was the best day!!!
