Acclaimed Italian director Luca Guadagnino's Bones and All has received three nominations at the Independent Spirit Awards.
The film, starring Taylor Russell (winner of the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Emerging Actress at this year’s Venice Film Festival) and Timothée Chalamet (Oscar and Golden Globe nominee for Best Actor for Call Me By Your Name), will be released in Italy on November 23, and previews down under this week.
Distributed by Vision, the film has been nominated for Best Feature Film, Best Leading Actor for Taylor Russell (a category now without genre) and Best Supporting Actor for Mark Rylance at the Independent Spirit Awards.
Leading the festival’s nominations, nabbing eight, is the art house blockbuster Everything Everywhere All at Once starring Michelle Yeoh.
The Spirit Awards gala will take place on March 4, 2023, eight days before the Oscars on March 12.
Bones and All is produced by Frenesy Film Company and Per Capita Productions with The Apartment Pictures (a Fremantle Group company), Memo Films, 3 Marys Entertainment, Elafilm and Tenderstories, in association with Vision Distribution and in collaboration with Sky.
The film is produced by Luca Guadagnino, Theresa Park, Marco Morabito, Dave Kajganich, Francesco Melzi d'Eril, Lorenzo Mieli, Gabriele Moratti, Peter Spears and Timothée Chalamet.
The film has been described as a cannibal love story; a horror-romance that takes two young lovers desperately trying to evade tragic ends on a journey through the sprawling back roads of the USA.
