Possession was roughly equal as Pisa created 15 chances to Catanzaro’s miserly two. However, the away side managed to score both of their only attempts on goal.

Simone Pontisso put the visitors ahead in under two minutes with a technically perfect volley from a corner whipped in by Jari Vandeputte.

Giuseppe Ambrosino doubled Catanzaro’s advantage in the 63rd minute when he finished off a square ball also teed up by Vandeputte.

Stefano Moreo brought Pisa to within a goal in the 74th when he headed Pietro Beruatto’s corner into the far post.

Marius Marin equalised just seven minutes later when his shot from distance took a deflection and looped over the keeper.

Pisa are ninth on the table, just one point behind Sampdoria in the final playoff spot.
