After landing at Rome’s Fiumicino airport, Nazia Shaheen, 51, is set to be taken to prison.

Shaheen was given a life sentence by a court in Reggio Emilia in December after being found guilty in absentia of her daughter’s homicide, along with her husband, Shabbar Abbas.

She was arrested in Pakistan in May after fleeing Italy following the murder. An international arrest warrant had been issued against her.

After her arrest in Pakistan, she agreed to being extradited to Italy.

The father, who was also sentenced to life by a court of first instance, was extradited to Italy a year ago and is already behind bars.
