Every occasion is an occasion to celebrate!
This time, however, there certainly is an occasion; there are six birthdays to commemorate.
To this end, everyone went to the Miotta household, where a sumptuous barbeque was prepared, for more than 50 Alpini and friends.
Remaining in theme with the Festival of Sanremo, someone, who wishes to remain anonymous for obvious reasons, composed a song which had its “world premier” at the party:
Aaalziamo il bicchier
Facciamo cin-cin
Beviam, beviam, beviam.
Tutto il mondo fa cin-cin
Sollevando il bicchier di vin, cin-cin
Evvia gli Alpin, cin-cin.
We raise our glasses
And make a toast, chin chin
We drink, we drink, we drink.
The entire world makes a toast, chin chin
Raising their glass of wine, chin chin
And hurray for the Alpine soldiers!
The six birthdays belonged to Rodolfo Miotto, Giuseppe Querin, Tony Madau, Luigi Pennetta, Margherita Lorenzato and Kayoko Shige, who cut the traditional cake and celebrated until late in the evening.
