Morrison chatted with leaders from various communities for about half an hour on Tuesday morning.
The Italian community was represented by Felice Montrone, who is an advisory board member for Multicultural NSW, Lorenzo Fazzini, the president of CO.AS.IT., Thomas Camporeale, the director of CO.AS.IT., and Vince Foti.
Between photos and handshakes, Morrison took the stage and greeted those present.
In his speech, he highlighted the illustrious history of migrant communities in Australia, citing the value of multiculturalism in Australia.
“Multiculturalism has been successful in Australia,” Morrison said.
“Everyone comes here with the same vision: to do the best for this country.
“Our economic well-being is supported by several factors and migration has played a huge role in Australia’s economy over the years.
“Australians, regardless of their background, are united by stories of migration, sacrifice, suffering and courage, all aimed at building a better future for their children.
“Some come here from countries where they did not enjoy the benefits and freedoms that the democratic system offers, and Australia provides those opportunities.
“In the wake of the next election, our economy will need to be supported by a government that has handled the COVID-19 crisis in an effective way.”
The Prime Minister concluded his speech by emphasising the importance of voting for a political party that had a positive history of managing Australia’s budget.
