That’s a wrap on the first edition of the Premio In Classe short film competition for high school Italian students, organised by the Co.As.It. of Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney with IAWCC (Italo-Australian Welfare & Cultural Centre Inc) and Il Globo TV.

The initiative, aimed at encouraging students to study the Italian language at school, saw the participation of numerous young people who produced short videos focusing on the theme of the Italian Language Week in the world: ‘Italian and sustainability’.

The short films demonstrated how sensitive and attentive young people are to this issue, which they addressed with original points of view and great linguistic competence.

The winners were chosen by the jury who, after carefully viewing the entries, unanimously agreed on the names of the winners.

For the category of Year 10 to 12 –

Alessia Di Felice, a Year 10 student studying Italian through Co.As.It., won both the national and the Victorian award.

For Years 7 to 9 –

Ella Robertson from Year 7 at Morialta Secondary College won in South Australia, while Luca Zammit from Year 8 at South Sydney High School was awarded both the New South Wales and national prize.

A selection of the best videos, along with those of the winners, will soon be available on Il Globo TV.

Congratulations to all our winners!
