Polenta alla casalinga

This recipe was one of my Nonna Maria’s favourite dishes to cook during the winter for my family, to warm our hearts.

 

 

• 2L milk
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 chilli, grated
• 2 cups polenta or cornmeal

1. Pour the milk into a large pot on the stove and add the salt and chilli. Bring to the simmer.
2. Slowly add the polenta while stirring. Boil for 15 minutes.
3. Pour the cooked polenta into a large serving dish and let it cool and set.
4. Once set, cut the polenta into small portions and serve! Alternatively, serve with Neapolitan meatballs.
