Started in 1997 by Pat LaManna, the Melbourne Passion Play is a live performance about the last few days of Christ’s life, culminating in his crucifixion.
The play is professionally produced and directed but performed by a large cast of volunteer actors.
It has become a much-anticipated event for the Christian community as they observe the important Easter period.
From the gathering of the Apostles on the shores of the Sea of Galilee to the Resurrection, the audience can literally follow the steps of Christ from one scene to the next as the show progresses.
The Melbourne Passion Play will come to life this Friday, March29 at 10 a.m. at the Holy Cross Centre (207 Serpells Road, Templestowe).
The performance will be contained within a large tree-lined park, accentuating the spiritual aspect of the experience.
The Melbourne Passion Play continues to be fully sponsored by the Pat LaManna Foundation and is free and open to anyone who is looking to join the day of faith, prayer and community.
Free parking is also available for those driving in.
