La Viola levelled the tie in under 12 minutes when Rolando Mandragora’s long-range effort sailed into the far post.
Albert Gudmundsson put Fiorentina ahead on aggregate and up 2-0 on the night in the 24th minute thanks to a deflection on his shot that wrongfooted Panathinaikos keeper Bartlomiej Dragowski.
Moise Kean sealed the result in the 75th minute after turning his marker and finishing neatly passed Dragowski.

Fotis Ioannidis made it a nervy finish to the game when he converted a penalty in the 81st minute awarded for a needles foul by Nicolo Fagioli.
Filip Mladenovic was shown a second yellow card in added time for a shirt pull preventing Fiorentina’s Marin Pongracic running into the box as the Italian side was breaking forward.
Fiorentina will now play Slovenian side NK Celje over two legs.
